I know today’s message is going to sound like a contradiction to what I’ve been sharing all week, but then again, it’s not all about me, is it? Just because I’ve been challenged to be open to receive from others and to not judge them, that doesn’t mean we should simply open ourselves wide for just anyone to speak into our lives. We need to have discernment and trust God’s Word fully, knowing that it is BLACK and WHITE! God does warn us to guard our hearts and to find wisdom. Ultimately, we need to be open and learn from other believers, but allow God and God alone to be the source for all of our knowledge.
TweetJohn 8:16-18 (NIV)
8:16 But if I do judge, my decisions are true, because I am not alone. I stand with the Father, who sent me. 8:17 In your own Law it is written that the testimony of two witnesses is true. 8:18 I am one who testifies for myself; my other witness is the Father, who sent me.”
