Last Friday, I challenged you to get ready to have your mind completely opened to the fullness of Christ. Through the trial of losing Molly, I have mentioned several times that my entire world has been turned upside down. The crazy thing is that we need to have “upside down” thinking to start to have victory in our lives. Faith is the complete opposite of control. Everything this world tells us we need to have to survive is a lie. We don’t need confidence in ourselves, we need brokenness in ourselves and confidence in the Lord. The more I delve into my identity in Christ, the more I realize that I need to be the “UN-John”. I have to do everything completely opposite from what I’ve been taught by this world. Waiting on God feels lazy, but it’s the best thing I can do. Trusting God feels frightful, but it’s the best thing I can do. Not having any confidence in myself feels weak, but it’s the best thing I can do! Brokenness brings victory!
TweetPsalm 51:17 (NIV) My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.
