As we come into the Christmas season, we all need to be reminded to slow down. This year should be easier than most for me since I am boycotting Christmas! When we allow our lives to get so busy during these special seasons, we sometimes forget that God’s hand is still there, gently leading our path. When our lives get so busy that we are not listening or responding to His “small voice”, He must be more aggressive to make us hear. As I mentioned yesterday, “the plain” is one of those appointed times of intimate communication with God when there are no distractions that capture our attention. It is a quiet place designed to allow us to seek and hear clearly. When He speaks, we need to be able to listen. It may not be comfortable, but we hear much better in the valley of “the plain”. Are you so busy that you cannot even hear His voice? Each day God wants to speak to us and for us to hear. If we neglect this time of open communication and listen to those “small voices” of the Holy Spirit, we may be invited to His plain in order to hear without distraction. Pray that you might make time to hear, so God doesn’t have to force YOU into “the plain” to get YOUR attention.
