When I was in Greenville a few weeks ago, the pastor (Perry Noble) of the church I visited, New Spring Church, talked about feeling overwhelmed. Their church is growing so fast, they are expanding from five to eight campuses. He is a bit stressed over the growth, but he overheard two other pastors talking about being overwhelmed and one simply said to the other, “If you don’t create it, you don’t have to sustain it!”. That statement spoke directly to my heart. It was a huge wake up call for me! The fact is that I have been so aggressive with everything I have ever done in my life, I felt like I was the one that was creating EVERYTHING and therefore, I was the one who had to be responsible for the outcome. That’s a lot of pressure to be under. Is that what God expects from us?
