As I’ve mentioned earlier this week, as we make “destiny decisions”, the greatest danger is engaging ourselves in activities in which God never intended us to be involved. This is poor stewardship of what God has entrusted to us. As we study the life of David in our Men’s Bible study, I am amazed how David learned the important lesson of staying vertical in his relationship with God at all times. David had learned the important principle of staying focused on what God wanted for him, not what seemed logical. Like me, he was an opportunist, but unlike me to this point, he only reacted through the filter of the Holy Spirit in his life.
Tweet2 Samuel 7:8-9 (NIV)
7:8 “Now then, tell my servant David, ‘This is what the LORD Almighty says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, and appointed you ruler over my people Israel. 7:9 I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men on earth.
