Don’t Harden YOUR Heart

Do you want to be transformed?  Don’t harden YOUR heart! Most of us wouldn’t think we have hardened hearts. After all we are Christians, right? We do good, we attend church, we say the right things, we can’t be hardened. The word “hardened,” means to make calloused, unyielding or cold in spirit, or insensitive to. Our hearts become hardened and insensitive when we think upon, study and ponder anything other than God and His ways. In many cases, our hearts are not filled with ideas of sin like murder or theft, but they are filled with only the natural way of living instead of considering the supernatural way God challenges us to live in faith.  Sadly, our hardened hearts stop us from seeing spiritual truths and keeps us dominated by only natural thinking, which is completely inadequate for total transformation!  The reason that Christians often don’t sense much transformation is because we are more sensitive to fear and doubt than we are to the truths of God’s Word! Look at YOUR heart TODAY.

Hebrews 3:7-11 (NIV)
3:7 So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his voice, 3:8 do not harden your hearts
as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness, 3:9 where your ancestors tested and tried me, though for forty years they saw what I did. 3:10 That is why I was angry with that generation; I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.’ 3:11 So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ”
