Enjoy Life

Since we had so much to do, it wasn’t easy to think about stopping to take time and slow down last weekend, but God showed me that it is possible.  I had several opportunities to get frustrated, as I have in the past when traveling, but instead, God challenged me to let it go.  The best example was when we were on our way back to VA, Jamie and I were both hungry and I was looking for a fast food restaurant and couldn’t find one.  As we drove through the quaint little town of Milford, PA, I saw a little deli with outside tables on the main street.  Now remember, we still had a five-hour trip and I was tired and wanted to get home after a long weekend of traveling.  Instead, I stopped and we had a leisurely lunch soaking up the sun and just chilling out.  We all spend so much time chasing one event after the other, that it takes intentionality to slow down, relax and “smell the roses”.  So, I challenge you to stop and smell the roses, paying attention to God’s many blessings in your life. This will help us be thankful and positive people, enjoying life as God’s children.  It will also eliminate much regret when a loved one is no longer a regular part of your life!

When’s the last time you stopped and smelled the roses?

 James 1:17 (NIV)

1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
