So if most Christians are comfortable (as I was) with a foot planted in both worlds, do we have an identity crisis? Like I said yesterday, I didn’t think it was an issue. The problem was, I wasn’t being too effective for the Kingdom either. In some sense, satan had me right where he wanted me. By having one foot so firmly planted in the world, I was way off balance in a spiritual sense. I never thought I was good enough (spiritually) and therefore, I didn’t feel that I had much of a testimony to share with others. I certainly wasn’t finding the peace in God that so many Christians talk about. I thought I was finding peace by having money and the security of a home. Well, I found out the hard way that all that can disappear. When it does, you’re left with the realization that our “American Dream” is built on shaky ground.
TweetLuke 16:13 (NIV) “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
