Here is a question for you…How would you say people identify you? It’s a great question for everyone, even unbelievers. I’ve used it often to start spiritual conversations lately. After Molly died, I realized that I was identified (in a spiritual sense) as Molly’s husband. I was identified in a professional sense as an aggressive and somewhat successful businessman. Sadly, I don’t want to be identified as either.
I want my identity to be in Christ! I don’t ever want to be defined by what I do professionally either! I was happy to take a back seat to Molly in a spiritual sense, because I never wanted to be radical for Christ. From a business perspective, I liked the idea that people thought I was fairly successful, but in reality, I was not very successful at all. I am just now starting to understand the meaning of success.
How are you defined? What would peole indentify you as?
Tough questions, but the answers may surprise you!
