In the last three months of Mom’s life, all she kept saying was that God wanted her to rest. I was really frustrated with that response, because I wanted her to fight. Because of her attitude and her commitment to God and HIS voice, she had a very peaceful last three months. As my emotions were raging, and tears flowed often, she was able to comfort ME because of her peace in God. It’s in that stillness that I need so I can hear from God as she did. There has been so much drama in our lives over the last two years, that I need to radically change my patterns of living and thinking to hear God’s gentle whispers. I don’t want God’s voice to be drowned out by the daily turmoil and business in my life. This change in perspective will take a lot of faith and trust in God (and NOT in myself), but ultimately, that is what He is calling us all to!
