Life in the Fast Lane

As I purpose to slow my life down to a reasonable pace, I look around me and overwhelmed with how busy EVERYONE is.  God has had to take me through some major trials to make me see how unhealthy my crazy lifestyle was, and I get very concerned when I see how everyone around me seems to be almost as busy as I once was.  In my life, I was living at such a dizzying speed that God didn’t always fit into my overbooked schedule.  Are YOU living life at a dizzying speed, where God is nowhere to be found? I didn’t feel like I was rejecting God; I just didn’t always have time for Him. I wasn’t necessarily struggling with God and His Word, but with the clock. It’s not sinning too much that’s killing our souls, it’s our schedule that’s annihilating us. Most of us don’t come home at night staggering drunk. Instead, we come home staggering tired, worn out, exhausted and drained because we live too fast.  What will it take for YOU to slow down?

Jeremiah 2:33-35 (MSG)

33-35“What an impressive start you made to get the most out of life.  You founded schools of sin, taught graduate courses in evil!  And now you’re sending out graduates, resplendent in cap and gown— except the gowns are stained with the blood of your victims!  All that blood convicts you.  You cut and hurt a lot of people to get where you are.  And yet you have the gall to say, ‘I’ve done nothing wrong. God doesn’t mind. He hasn’t punished me, has he?’  Don’t look now, but judgment’s on the way, aimed at you who say, ‘I’ve done nothing wrong.’
