As I mentioned all last week, we need to stop and smell the roses and get out of the fast lane. Another thing that happened to Jamie and I last weekend when we traveled to NY was that we got on the NY Thruway and the GPS told us it was 63 miles to Albany and we would be staying on the highway all the way to New Paltz. Then all of a sudden, only 10 miles down the road, the GPS told me to exit. Jamie and I looked at each other in both wonder and concern because we knew that it had just said we would be on the highway for 63 miles. Because I had committed to going with the flow that weekend, I did as the GPS commanded (even though I really didn’t need the guideance since I knew the route was highway the rest of the trip). We ended up traveling through one small town after another and straight through the Catskill Mountains. It was beautiful. In hindsight, I feel this example was a parralell to my entire life. I’ve always wanted to take the highway and get were ever I was going as fast as I could. God is showing me that there is another way. Take the back roads and enjoy the scenery. Get off the highway and see what adventures are in store for you!

2:25 “Slow down. Take a deep breath. What’s the hurry? Why wear yourself out? Just what are you after anyway? But you say, ‘I can’t help it. I’m addicted to alien gods. I can’t quit.’
