Meditation

As I think about meditating on God’s Word, I always thought it was a quiet time of reflection, but as I read yesterday’s passage in Joshua (1:8), I realize that God is asking us to interact with Him with more than just our minds during meditation.  Meditation also has something to do with the mouth. Reading the Scriptures aloud is a verbal interaction with God’s Word. To have God’s Word living in us, requires more than mental study to gain knowledge of the Bible.  In order for God to speak to us, we need thorough interaction with Him in the Word, which involves careful study, deep consideration, prayer in the spirit, speaking and sharing the Word with others.
