So how does this transformation begin? It’s not something we can do in our own power. But there are definitely things we can do to get to know God in a more intimate way. We can spend more time with God, reading His Word, praying and fellowshiping with other believers, but ultimately, we need to accept the fact that we have become part of His family to really get to know Him more. I know this sounds so simple, but as for me, I spent most of my Christian walk working at becoming a stronger follower and never really examined my sonship in Him. Did I really feel like a loved child? No, I felt as if I needed to work at becoming worthy of His love. You can never work hard enough to earn your inheritance of God’s love. Accept His love and the transformation will come from your dedicated relationship, not from your hard work. Transformation begins by being conformed to be a child of God, just like Jesus.
