Last week we had an interesting home group. Andre De Villiers came with Russell and Chris Fragar and started the time off with a couple of songs. Someone asked Andre a question and over an hour later, we were still enthralled in a stimulating conversation. His faith walk has been amazing. He was a rock star in South Africa in his 20’s, came to know the Lord when he was 30 and walked away from his decadent life-style. He then got into advertising where he wrote award winning music for commercials for the next 20 years. He kept his musical talents out of the church and simply ran the sound board. God finally called him out when he was 49 to become a “gypsy” and travel the world singing and telling folksy stories. He knew that what God was calling him to do was impossible, so in faith he stepped out and watched God work. Now that is an amazing story of patience and God’s timing!
