Too Busy

As we prepared to leave Nicaragua last week, the teams discussed how life was different there and how it would be when we arrived home.  Most of the team expressed how close they felt to God the week we were there and how when they got back to NOVA, they would be inundated with activities again.  I asked them if Northern Virginia was the problem or if THEY were the problem.  Why can’t we stay connected to God when we get home?  Of course, as soon as I got back, I found myself busier than I have been in a year.  Even though I am in a place I didn’t choose to be in, there is surely something freeing about not having the same hectic pace I had my entire adult life.  As the team shared, I realized that the number one obstacle to staying connected with God is simply being too busy.  What keeps YOU busy?  Are there things you need to cut out of your life in order to fully commit yourself to God?

Don’t let this excuse keep you from fulfilling YOUR destiny!

1 John 2:17 (NIV)

2:17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
