Knowing that God’s love for you is unconditional needs to be the foundation for your quest of “finding yourself”. Once you accept His love, understanding yourself is necessary before you can develop wisdom and discretion. Therefore, if you want to love (and serve) other people in the most effective ways of all, first you need to understand yourself, and be true to the laws that God has given to guide us in wisdom. As I mentioned last week, to be able to “be true to yourself” you first need to develop a sense of who you are. As Christians, we develop a sense of who we are as it relates to God. Understanding “who you are” means understanding who God is and what he wants you to do.
It is when you know God, in your heart, that it is then possible to truly love other people… because God is LOVE. Find yourself in Christ and find true love for yourself and others!
Tweet1 John 4:8 (NIV) Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
